Presentation of association a.a.A.G.R.
Our
association formed according to the law regarding nonprofits of 1901
and is named the Association of the Friends of Alfred-George REGNER.
The association has for a goal to perpetuate the memory of the artist
engraver who died in 1987 and to promote the knowledge of his body of
work. a.a.A.G.R. serves to gather the friends, family, collectors, of
his artwork and his former students, who wish to help us in this effort.
In addition, the a.a.A.G.R created an annual honorary prize of one of
REGNER's engravings intended to encourage an engraver whose talent
deserves to be recognized. This prize became "REGNER-LHOTELLIER Prize"
created after the death of his close friend Henry LHOTELLIER and was determined by:
Jacques DECLERQ, Claude LAGOUCHE, Hélène de BEAUVOIR,
Yves MARCHAUX, Nicolas SOCHOS, Veronique LAURENT-DENIEUIL and
Hélène LAFFLY..
The members of a.a.A.G.R. are delighted to have been able to achieve
their most important goal, namely: the writing and publishing of the
catalogue raisonné of REGNER's paintings and engravings. A work
which comes out during the hundred year anniversary of Regner's birth.
The Association wishes to express recognition to its faithful members
whose help was so invaluable since its foundation in 1988 including an
heartfelt tribute those who unfortunately have passed away: Helene of
BEAUVOIR, Lars BO, Doctor Charles CANTAGREL, Robert HAMON, Henry
LHOTELLIER, Paul SERAMY and Jeanne REGNER, muse and wonderful wife.
